Model Rocketry for Beginners
Starting Up - Finding Support

ACHIEVING 'CRITICAL MASS'

Julie has begun to nurture the growth of sustainable resources while beginning the process of achieving critical mass. “Critical mass” is that point in the life of an organization where rainmaking activities have generated enough good will, press and support to sustain the healthy growth and expansion of the organizations’ goals. As an educator and organizer, you will know when critical mass has been achieved because your focus will imperceptibly shift from “how will I get there?” to “in what direction do I want to lead?”.

We are often surprised at how quickly critical mass can be achieved when educators and leaders focus on how their club, project or organization can establish mutually beneficial relationships rather than concentrating on how other groups can pose potential threats to already scarce resources. It is always helpful to remember that - while your focus may be rocketry science education - another might believe that chess or soccer or scouting are equally important pursuits. Partnering with other groups that may not - on the surface - have similar goals is a great way to develop long-term sustainable resources that benefit everyone.

If you’ve made it this far through Quest's Model Rocketry Boot Camp then you are (surprise!) now a part of that vibrant community of people who are interested in model rocketry for education, recreation or sport.

And if rainmaking is the desire to find and share creative and sustainable solutions than what better way to do this than to invite you to share your experiences and knowledge with us? Have you come up with a great way to organize club meetings? Did your club, class or troop just host a successful launch? Do you have a question that you really need answered? We would really like to hear from you! Please feel free to email us at edu@questaerospace.com.
